ULTRASOUNDAt Parkhurst Sports Performance & Rehabilitation we offer pulsed ultrasound for the treatment of sports injuries. Studies show that adding pulsed ultrasound to your treatment plan can speed your healing times. Therapeutic treatment using ultrasound helps many acute conditions such as muscle spasm, tendonitis, edema and sprains. It is also effective in chronic conditions such as bursitis, fascitis, scar tissue and adhesion.
ONE-ON-ONE TRAINING
Enjoy individualized attention at Parkhurst Sports Performance & Rehabilitation. After the acute phase of an injury we address the physical training that is needed for strength and stabilization. Our doctors work with the therapists to provide a personalized program of exercises that will return strength and stabilization to the injured area. These exercises are done with the therapist’s supervision in a room equipped for rehabilitation and some of those exercises can also be done at home.

COLD LASER
This therapy provides the Parkhurst Sports Performance & Rehabilitation patients with an alternative means of non-invasive, drug-free pain relief and tissue regeneration. Although used by professional athletes and health care givers around the world for over 30 years, Low Level Light Therapy was approved for pain management in the United States by the FDA in 2003. LLLT floods the tissue with proton energy that the body uses to heal damaged and painful tissue. What is remarkable about this form of therapy is that we do not usually feel any kind of sensation while it is working on or in the body. It is truly painless and non-invasive while getting good results! LLLT causes cellular activity and the cells begin to naturally repair themselves.

WHOLE BODY VIBRATION
Whole body vibration is used to increase strength, dexterity and endurance. Here at Parkhurst Sports Performance & Rehabilitation we have incorporated Power Vibe whole body vibration machines to help get you back in the game sooner. Whole body vibration works by rapidly challenging your muscles in both vertical and horizontal planes in small rapid motions. This motion excites stretch receptors and tendon reflexes in joints promoting increased receptor activity and safely challenging balance and coordination. Studies show that whole body vibration can increase muscle strength and work endurance faster than comparable weight training. This allows training after an injury to begin sooner than traditional weight training. Whole body vibration has also been shown to improve blood flow and tissue oxygenation producing a positive cardiovascular effect and aiding in muscle rehabilitation.

KINESIOLOGY TAPING
At Parkhurst Sports Performance & Rehabilitation we offer Kinesiology taping to help keep you in the game. Kinesiology taping provides support without restricting the range of motion. It helps to prevent overstretching and over contraction of affected musculature. It enhances the strength of injured muscles or under toned muscles helping to prevent further injury. Kinesiology taping helps to relieve acute and chronic pain reduces swelling and inflammation and improves circulation to injured areas helping you to heal faster. Kinesiology tape has also been shown to improve lymphatic flow speeding the removal of inflammation contributing to pain. In our clinic we use Spidertech brand kinesiology tape. All of the edges are machine cut so it does not fray, peel or split like other applications can. It is designed to be worn for up to five days providing continuous support long after treatment in the clinic.

E-STIM
Electric stimulation for musculoskeletal conditions has proven to be a safe and effective way to reduce pain and inflammation. At Parkhurst Sports Performance & Rehabilitation we use both stationary and portable E-Stim units for the treatment of acute pain, muscle tension, and chronic pain. Electric stimulation can help to increase the range of motion in an injured joint while increasing blood flow to the area to speed healing.
