We’re Getting You Back In The Game!

Most sports injuries are treated in our clinic according to how the injury occurred.

  • Severe injuries go directly to the hospital, undergo immediate treatment and then come to us to rehab the injury before returning to the field.
  • Other injuries are reported to the trainer but they are not serious enough for intervention. The athlete is still playing in a sport with an injury that doesn’t require surgery however the injury doesn’t resolve itself on its own and continues to affect the athlete’s performance. The athlete ends up playing hurt.

There are also those athletes that come to us that are injured off the field yet still want to be able to finish out the season playing without further injury or pain.

At Parkhurst Sports Performance & Rehabilitation an athlete will experience the following no matter what type of injury they have:

  • An appointment with one of our sports trained doctors for a consultation.
  • A series of tests including range of motion, soft tissue evaluation, orthopedic test, and if necessary, digital imaging.

All sports injuries that deal with trauma have a structural and soft tissue component to them. If a patient is accepted and can be treated here we will start with chiropractic care to treat the structural issues. Soft tissue issues will be treated using state of the art tools – cold laser, ultrasound, electric stimulation and Kinesiology Taping. The athlete will also meet with a rehab therapist for one on one sessions where they will train using exercises based on NASM protocols including the use of Power Vibe — whole body vibration.
